The Florida Federation of Garden Clubs District V, in partnership with the University of Florida, offers the 88th Annual UF Short Course, a premier horticultural program drawing participants from across the state. This highly-rated 3-day event will be held in Gainesville from May 31 through June 2, 2026 at the UF Straughn Center.

This year’s theme, “Tools for Tomorrow,” focuses on identifying emerging environmental challenges and exploring innovative, research-based solutions. Attendees will enjoy exclusive tours and expert presentations by UF faculty and regional plant specialists.

• Lunch is included on Monday and Tuesday. A continental breakfast is available on Tuesday. Sunday’s Welcome Reception is hosted by the Gainesville Garden Club from 3-5 pm. Monday’s optional Floral Design Dinner is also hosted at the clubhouse (separate registration).

• Bus transportation will be provided for attendees from out of town. Parking spaces on UF campus have been reserved for local attendees. 

• Registration opens February 1 for FFGC Members, March 1 for Master Gardeners, and April 1 for the general public.

• Registration Deadline - 8 May 2026

• National Garden Clubs Tri-Refresher credits can be requested for eligible attendees.

• Lodging discount available at Drury Inn & Suites ($103 + tax - reservation deadline is May 6th)
