We have our first Roadside (2025-2026) cleanup scheduled for Saturday, November 15 from 9am-11am or noon. We are working with the State of Florida DOT to conduct litter removal on a portion of 13th Street from Archer Road (South) to 16th Street (GHS) (North). The roadside cleanup will be done in pairs, and Karen Beaty has openings for eight more volunteers (first come first served). She has all the supplies that we will need including vests, trash bags, signs, carts, pickers and water. However, she will need a volunteer count by this

Thursday.

We will review the procedures for litter bag collection at the Adopt-A-Highway Signs (at Archer Road and at GHS) Karen has a volunteer who will coordinate this with all walkers. Star Automotive at 706 NW 13th Street has agreed to let us use their property as a staging and parking area (just don’t park in front of dumpsters).

Karen will send this info to each volunteer once she has your name. Our designated area is only 2 miles, on both sides of 13th Street, so if we have 16 volunteers, the faster we get done. Hope you can volunteer and if not this time, then sometime in 2026.
